To make your first appointment you can use one of the contact forms from this website to send a message.
Alternatively, you can email directly or phone - see the contact page for details. If you phone and we miss your call, leave a voicemail message and we will get back to you.
If your GP or psychiatrist has sent a direct referral on your behalf, you are also welcome to reach out via email or phone.
If you have not heard from me within 2 business days from when a direct referral was sent, please contact me to confirm it has been received.

No. You do not need a referral and can book directly yourself without one.
Referrals are only required where you are seeking a rebate via Medicare under a MHTP or a CCMP.
Where accessing Private Health Fund rebates you are not required to have a referral.

Yes, we currently have both in-person appointments and telehealth (phone and videocall) options available for counselling sessions.
You may opt to attend all of your appointments either in person or online – or a mix of both - depending on your preference and needs.
Telehealth sessions have been shown to have the same effective outcomes as therapy held in person for *most types of therapy. Telehealth supports accessibility to counselling, providing an option for people when attending in person is not possible or preferred for a number of reasons.
Telehealth sessions are conducted via a secure platform and are scheduled in the same way as appointments held in clinic. You will receive additional details prior to your first appointment that may assist in answering any questions you have.
Otherwise, you are welcome to reach out with any questions or concerns prior to booking an initial telehealth session.

The number of sessions you will have depends on your individual situation, preferences, needs, and importantly - your choice.
We can explore this together during or after your first appointment in a collaborative process that establishes what might be realistic and supportive for you.
Depending on your circumstances and what you are seeking I can provide general estimates around timeframes and offer suggestions for frequency of sessions. This is based on working with what we have discussed prior, during and after your initial appointment - and may also include information provided by other people involved in your care (for example, referral directly from your psychiatrist or GP).
The process involves drawing together the above information, consideration of your personal circumstances and then sharing my clinical opinion with you - with suggestions and options for you to consider. This will include consideration of your personal situation, and factors such as your availability, time, and overall out-of-pocket costs to you.
For support that is more targeted and may be highly structured it may be much easier to establish a set number of appointments, spaced appropriately for you and the issue you are seeking support for. For example, someone engaging in a course of CBT for Insomnia may only need to have 6-8 sessions. For others where co-occurring conditions are present, they may choose to engage with much longer-term support and frequency of appointments may also vary. Regardless, we cannot predict the future but what we can do is adapt and work with your needs and preferences and maintain clear and transparent communication and regular review. This is important to support you in exercising your right to informed consent.
Engaging support should not be a mysterious process, I am always happy to answer your questions honestly with communication that is clear and helpful for you.
It is important to stress that regardless of recommendations made, you always have choice and can discontinue at any time. This is a voluntary service - you are not ‘locked in’ and I support and encourage people to exercise agency and choice.
Sessions may generally be spaced one to two weeks apart, giving you time to reflect and apply strategies between appointments. However, again - frequency varies from person to person and may be less frequent and adapted to consider suitable pacing.
